American Boating Services

American Boating Services is the brain child of Tim Hyatt and Dawn Schieferdecker. Tim was born into a family who owned a marine business. His grandfather and eventually his parents owned 24 boats and motors, which back in the day they rented to the public for fishing or pleasure boating. In later years Tim worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic, a Captain for two different marine towing companies, and ran his own diving business. He has made the Intercoastal and offshore trip from Florida to Connecticut on many occasions. Tim has experience operating boats from 18-72 feet for both municipalities and private owners. Dawn was also born into a marine industry family. Her grandfather built and ran Essex Island Marina on the Connecticut River, where she has worked for over 15 years.

It is their philosophy that the boating public should receive fair, professional service at a reasonable price. The boating season on Long Island Sound is about six months, if Mother Nature cooperates. Recreational boaters should only have to pay for on-water assistance service when they can use their boat. And the last thing that a boater in distress needs is additional concern. Wouldnt it be nice to have a family member that you could call for help – someone who you trust to respond quickly and treat you fairly? American Boating Services, in conjunction with Affordable Boat Tow (Milford, CT), provides this service to its family of members as Two Brothers Towing.

Pathfinder

When you invest in a Pathfinder, youre getting over 50 years of on-the-water light-tackle boat building experience. That knowledge and pride comes as standard equipment with every boat made. The Pathfinder name is synonymous with quality, experience and value. No one in the marine industry knows more about the design, performance and construction of shallow-water and light-tackle fishing boats. Buying a boat is a big decision. And unlike automobiles, many brands of boats are here today and gone tomorrow. Thats why it is so important to make your investment in a boat thats made by a company that will be here tomorrow and the next day. That boat is Pathfinder manufactured by Maverick Boat Company.

When it comes to building inshore fishing boats, one thing is certain…the further a company gets away from understanding what dedicated anglers want in their boats, the more underwhelming their products will be. The bay and offshore boats created by Pathfinder, on the other hand, are the direct result of concepts and input from an angler-driven design team, pro guide staff, and a loyal core of customers. Each and every model and feature start with the idea of improvement and problem-solving. Pathfinders have been conceived from the ground up. They are not modified designs of existing hulls tricked out with cosmetics and features that don’t work. Pathfinders are focused products born to do one thing…to put dedicated anglers on fish and to do it with comfort and safety with sensible, roved technology and craftsmanship.

Pacific Boats

Pacific Skiffs was formed in the fall of 1986. Originally as Pacific Manufacturing, Inc. the company crafted custom made all-welded aluminum work boats or more commonly referred to as skiffs. In the United States, a “skiff” is known as a small, shallow draft, open deck work boat and is often called upon to meet the needs of commercial fishermen in Alaska. In addition to fulfilling the needs of these fishermen the doors had been opened for opportunities that ranged from set netting, crabbing, shrimping, aquaculture, hauling freight, construction, dredging, oil spill response, diving and to resort use. Therefore after several successful years in manufacturing of these “made to order skiffs” the designs and manufacturing energies were re-routed into the development and a production of premium quality, high performance, Vee hull commercial & sport fishing boats.

With a marine engineering background, skills in commercial ship repair and manufacturing technologies the owner brings over 35 years of marine industry experience to his company. In this highly fragmented industry, our boat design and manufacturing processes have continued to be industry leaders all the while meeting the individual needs of many fishermen across the world as well as a large variety of agency needs. To date they have provided vessels for fire departments, search & rescue, ports, harbor masters, sheriffs, US Coast Guard, US Navy, Navy Reserve, Coast Guard Auxillary, NOAA, US Army Corp of Engineers, Fish & Wildlife agencies, warden services, universities, national parks services, tribal fisheries & patrol, DNR, Dept of Transportation, US Geological Services, construction companies, divers, tow boat companies and many more.

Gause Built Custom Boats

Gause Built Custom Boats builds custom fishing boats for discriminating anglers. This family business developed as a result of generations of the Gause family sport fishing, guide fishing and commercial fishing and the continuing search by the members of that family for the “perfect” boat. Years of modifying, improving and rebuilding a variety of fishing boats finally led to a decision to design and build a custom fishing boat for themselves which would satisfy all their requirements and be lacking in no essential detail. Custom Built Fishing Boats, by definition, are built to a particular specification, and initially that specification was created by Robbie, David and Gunner Gause, as the boat was being built for their own use. Soon after they had completed that first boat they discovered that there were other anglers interested in owning a boat like this, and a decision was made to meet that demand.

An integral part of that decision was to continue to strive for the “perfect” boat. Of course, what’s perfect for one client may not be perfect for the next. This meant that each boat would need to be built to satisfy the requirements of the individual client, rigged and outfitted so that, for that client, it was lacking in no essential detail. Gause Built Custom Boats was established and production of a 26 foot custom fishing boat designed to float and run in less than a foot of water was begun. The boat was built with a tower, for better fishing visibility, a hull shape designed to promote a smooth, dry ride, a bait well integrated into the transom of the boat and many more features which the Gause Family had come to expect after many generations of fishing and using boats.

Marco Polo Boats is proud of its offerings and strives to make the entire experience of purchasing, delivery, and use of its boats and accessories a positive one for you.

Marco Polo Boats’ Lario is based on the design of the traditional fishing boat of Lake Como, Italy, commonly known as the Lucia. In fact this fishing boat dates from before 1800 when it had no special name other than “boat” or batel in the local dialect. These boats are characterized by pointed bow and stern, a flat bottom, a total length of about 6 meters (19.7 feet), a beam of 2 meters (6.6 feet), deeply angled V-shaped sides, and high arches which support a canvas cover used for rain and sun protection. They have two sets of oars, and are rowed in the stand up position facing forward. Some boats have a simple rectangular sail that permits running only with the wind. The fishermen typically used nets, though some spearing from the bow and line trawling were also used. With the advent of outboard motors, an inside-the-boat motor well was adopted just forward of the pointed stern.
