Floyd Miller founded Sunnfjord Boats in June of 1976. It has always been a family-owned company. Floyd’s wife, Yvonne, daughter, Mia, and both sons. Todd and Eric, joined Floyd in the business. Mia worked part-time during college and Eric became a full-time fisherman.Floyd passed away in August of 1998. His son Todd Miller, with over 20 years of experience, took over production and retrofits with the help of an experienced crew of craftsmen. Over the last 25 years, they at Sunnfjord have built 300 fiberglass vessels including fish boats, charter boats, custom workboats and custom yachts. Alaska has been their larges market, but they also have boats in Calfornia, Hawaii and Saipan.Sunnfjord boats are recognized for their reliability, integrity and sea-kindliness. Our customers have personally “tested” their Eddie Monk hulls in the Gulf of Alaska.
In addition to building cusom yachts, they offer a full service maintainance and repair program. They work with boat owners to advice and develop maintainance schedules to fit their needs. Their 40 and 80 ton ways can handle vessels up to 65′ and, with 20 supports, are gentle on your hull. They offer ample dock space and their location on the north shores of Commencement Bay is a breeze to get to. From exterior painting and zinc replacement to complete re-fits and custom additions, their experienced crew will get back out on the water! The cornerstone of our business is custom yacht construction. Working with you to create the vessel of your dreams is our bottom line. Case in point was the creation of “Level One”. Level One was the brainchild of Jim Carpentio of Vancouver, WA. Jim had spent nearly three years dreaming, designing and, planning a boat that could accommodate the needs of his wife Anne.
