Hallett
Hallett has been building boats in Australia for over 30 years. There were 3 models originally imported from the USA in the mid 1970’s, the ‘Hustler’ a ‘Bubble deck’ and the ‘Mini Cruiser’. Hallett was reported to be the first boat design in Australia with a reverse chine design, giving Hallett it’s well known handling characteristics and awesome flat turning ability. This trait has continued right through the model range, even with the current models. The original designs were moulded by Mr Smith in Melbourne and the boats built by Firebird Marine. In 1991 the Hallett business was sold by Revolution Fibreglass to Matt Gurreari who later sold it to Greg Kinsella of Eliminator boats.
Murraylands Off Road & Boating is located on the same property as where the Hallett Ski Boats are designed and built. The service centre has a full work shop, with marine mechanics that can service any of the engines, be it outboard, indmar, Gen III, or Chev. Andrew Hill designs, builds and services the boats along with his highly trained and knowledge able staff. With over 30years of experience in marine Mechanics boats who better to service your Hallett than those who built it! The business was then moved from Victoria to Murray Bridge in South Australia, the premier skiing destination is SA, where Hallett ski boats are currently built. The ‘Scorpion’ and the ‘Executive’ are still made today with a new boat ‘Stinger’, having arrived in August 2007. Hallett Ski Boats are still well known for their handling and turning ability.
